How long does it takes to charge my vehicle ?

  • Level 1 charger (standard wall outlet): This is slowest, adding about 2-5 miles of range per hour. A full charge could take over 12 hours for a typical EV battery.
  • Level 2 charger (home charger): This is a common option for home charging, providing 10-20 miles of range per hour. A full charge from empty could take 4-8 hours for a typical EV battery.
  • DC fast charger (public charging station): These are the fastest, potentially adding 100 miles of range in 30 minutes. However, charging speeds slow down as the battery nears full capacity.

What is the cost for onetime of charging vehicle?

  1. Calculate the energy used: Multiply your battery capacity (kWh) by the percentage you need to charge (as a decimal). For example, if your battery is 50% depleted and has a 60 kWh capacity, you’d need to multiply 60 kWh * 0.5 = 30 kWh.
  2. Multiply by your electricity rate: Multiply the energy used (kWh) by your electricity rate (cents/kWh) and convert the units to dollars. For instance, if your electricity rate is 15 cents/kWh and you need 30 kWh, the cost would be 30 kWh * $0.15/kWh = $4.50.

Here’s a tip: When researching specific EV models, be sure to check the manufacturer’s estimated range. This will give you a good starting point to understand the car’s capabilities. But remember, this is just an estimate, and your actual driving experience may vary.

How to extend the life of my electric car battery?

  • Avoid overcharging or overdischarging.
  • Try to use slow charging instead of fast charging.
  • Regularly check the battery condition and handle it in time if any abnormality is found.

Is it safe to charge my EV at home?

Where should I park my electric car when charging it?

  • It is best to park your electric car in a shady spot to avoid direct sunlight, which can affect battery life.
  • Try to park on a level surface to prevent the vehicle from tilting and causing uneven charging.
  • Park away from flammable and explosive materials to ensure safety.

Can I unplug the charging gun while charging?
